Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer™

It was a real inspiration when last year I volunteered as Crew on the inaugural Ride to Conquer Cancer ride in Brisbane. I was there to support  Klaus, who having  suffered from melanoma wanted to ride for a cause close to our hearts that offered hope to cancer sufferers and survivors.

What I learnt from last year’s ride was that when people come together for a cause you can feel the energy in the air. It wasn’t about the ride so much as the challenge to push through the difficulties of each kilometre peddled, waiting for the next pit stop to appear and get the words of encouragement of those around you & get reinvigorated,  to keep on going and when it got too much have someone there to support you.  Whatever your struggle, knowing you were not alone.

 People have the ability to do great things under great hardship, cancer being one of these hardships and whether  you’re the one suffering or you’re the support, feeling and using  that positive energy and being there is what matters. This year I will be riding because I know it will challenge me,  and that your donation is going towards a positive change for anyone touched by cancer.

 That is the inspiration of the Ride to Conquer cancer.
